Description
Lee Health is seeking a Breast Ultrasound Sonographer & Training Specialist to deliver expert, patient-centered breast imaging and elevate team performance. In this role, you will perform high-quality diagnostic breast ultrasounds, assist with ultrasound-guided procedures, and ensure compassionate, clear communication with patients. You’ll design and deliver training, mentor sonographers, support protocol and quality improvements, and collaborate closely with radiologists and multidisciplinary teams to advance safe, innovative care for the Southwest Florida community.Perform high-quality breast ultrasound exams following Lee Health protocols
Optimize images and assist with ultrasound-guided biopsies and procedures
Ensure patient comfort, safety, and thorough education during exams
Train, mentor, and precept sonographers and new team members
Develop and deliver in-service education and skills check-offs
Maintain equipment quality, perform basic troubleshooting, and report issues
Accurately document exams, findings, and workflows in EMR/PACS systems
Collaborate with radiologists, surgeons, and multidisciplinary teams
Support quality improvement, safety, and best-practice initiatives

Breast ultrasound imaging
Sonography of breast anatomy and pathology
Ultrasound equipment operation and QA
Image optimization and positioning
Aseptic and infection control techniques
Patient assessment and communication
Biopsy and interventional ultrasound assistance
Clinical education and staff training
Exam documentation and PACS use
Radiologist and care-team collaboration

Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) or equivalent
Breast specialty credential (e.g., RDMS (Breast) or ARRT (BS)) preferred
Current ARDMS, ARRT, or CCI registration in good standing
State and/or facility-required sonography licensing, if applicable
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
Demonstrated experience in breast or women’s imaging
Experience developing and delivering clinical training or precepting
Proficiency with PACS and electronic medical record systems
