Description
Lee Health is seeking a Breast Ultrasound Sonographer to provide high-quality imaging and compassionate care for patients in our Healthcare & Medical Services department. In this role, you will perform diagnostic breast ultrasound exams, support image-guided procedures, and collaborate closely with radiologists and multidisciplinary breast care teams. You will ensure accurate imaging, thorough documentation, and a safe, supportive patient experience. Assist radiologists with image-guided breast procedures as needed
Verify orders, obtain patient history, and ensure accurate documentation in EMR/RIS
Optimize and evaluate images for diagnostic quality and completeness
Educate and support patients, explaining procedures and addressing concerns
Maintain ultrasound equipment, rooms, and supplies to safety and quality standards
Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and breast care teams for coordinated care
Follow infection control, safety, and privacy regulations at all times
Participate in quality improvement and continuing education activities

Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) with Breast specialty (RDMS-BR) preferred or obtained within specified timeframe
ARDMS or ARRT(S) ultrasound certification required or eligibility in accordance with state and facility standards
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved provider
Completion of an accredited diagnostic medical sonography or ultrasound technology program
Compliance with all state licensure or registration requirements, if applicable
Strong proficiency with breast imaging protocols and ultrasound equipment
