Diagnostic Radiologist in Tazwell, VA

Carilion Clinic is seeking a BC/BE diagnostic Radiologist to join our practice in Tazwell, VA at the 56-bed Carilion Tazwell Community Hospital.

Compensation and Other Benefits:

• Compensation: $500,000.00 per year base with potential to make $600,000.00+ per year after bonuses.

Clinical Work:

• Mostly dayshifts from 8AM to 5-6PM.
• Swing shifts from Noon to 8PM – Approximately 1 swing shift every 3 weeks on average.
• Evening shift from 5PM to 11PM – Approximately 1 evening shift every 3 weeks on average.
• Weekend schedule: 3 Weekends per year.
• While located in Tazwell, this position would be reading studies acquired across the Carilion system.
• Light interventional work including paracentesis, thoracentesis, lumbar puncture, and arthrograms.  
• Breast imaging including screening mammography and diagnostic mammography are desired but not required.
• SECTRA PACS, Powerscribe One reporting with AI automated impressions, EPIC EMR, Syngo.Via/TeraRecon/3Mensio Advanced Visualization.
• Hybrid position with some days assigned to work from home.  Carilion will provide a full diagnostic workstation including diagnostic BARCO monitor.
• Day and evening Reading Room Assistant for troubleshooting and contacting referring providers.
• Participation in tumor boards (Oncolens online platform) and practice quality improvement is expected.

• Deep overnight shift covered by teleradiology.

• $100 million new 7-story cancer center – under construction, scheduled to open in 2027
• $400 million Cardiovascular Institute expansion tower to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital – opened in July 2025
• New 80,000 sq ft outpatient pediatric clinic opened in 2021.
• New 37,000 sq ft mental health clinic opened in 2023.
