Description
Outpatient Radiologist – Poulsbo, WA - Kitsap Peninsula
Partnership Track | No Call | High Earnings | Established Outpatient Market
Medical Scanning Consultants is seeking an expert radiologist to join our 100% outpatient imaging practice in the Poulsbo/Kitsap Peninsula market, supporting RAYUS Radiology imaging centers in the region. Fellowship-trained in Neuro/MSK/Body preferred but not required--for the right candidate.
This is an excellent opportunity for a radiologist who wants the best parts of community-based outpatient practice: strong compensation, an extremely reasonable schedule (i.e., flexible hours, no nights/weekends/pager), meaningful clinical relationships, and the chance to become an important physician presence in a well-established market and an inviting, picturesque community.
We are looking for a radiologist with fellowship training in Body, MSK, Neuro, or a related subspecialty who is comfortable practicing in a high-quality, low-stress outpatient environment. The ideal candidate is clinically well-rounded or pluripotential, enjoys a mix of subspecialty and general work, communicates clearly and kindly, and is willing to perform some basic image-guided procedures (depending on one’s training, experience, and comfort level).
This is not a commodity reading job. Our group is physician-led, subspecialty-oriented (though not necessarily required for this position), and built around high-quality reports, strong local relationships, and practical service to our clinicians. We are looking for someone who embodies those values, not some intent on clearing a worklist without considering the patients who were on it.
Why This Position Is Attractive
Established outpatient imaging practice in Poulsbo, WA and Kitsap Peninsula
No call, nights, weekends, or holidays
Highly competitive compensation, with expected earnings of $600K+
Twelve-month partnership track
Generous vacation: 10 weeks to start, increasing to 12 weeks as partner
Fair and equitable work model
Strong technologist and operational support
Opportunity to build meaningful relationships with local referring clinicians
Ability to help shape and grow imaging services in the market
Support from an experienced, collaborative physician group
Hybrid schedule available
Clinical Scope
The position may include a mix of:
Outpatient CT
MRI
Ultrasound
Radiographs
General outpatient imaging
Subspecialty imaging depending on fellowship background
Basic image-guided procedures, depending on training and comfort level
Our ideal candidate would combine subspecialty expertise with practical outpatient versatility. Subspecialty expertise in Body, MSK, and/or Neuro training would be ideal, as long as they are comfortable with some general diagnostic work and with functioning as a trusted outpatient radiologist in a community market.
Practice Culture
MSC is a physician-led radiology group that provides professional services for RAYUS Radiology centers (which is a thriving enterprise with a national footprint). We believe radiologists should be clinically excellent, finely attuned to the needs of referring physicians, respectful toward technologists/staff, and committed to producing reports that are clear, concise, and clinically useful.
Our work model is designed to be fair and sustainable. We do not believe in overburdening new physicians, and we value colleagues who want to contribute to the longevity of the practice.
The right candidate will be someone who takes pride in clinical acumen, who proofreads their reports, leads by example, and wants to become a trusted physician partner in the local medical community (as opposed to an isolated “dicta-drone”).
Location
Poulsbo is a gem of the Pacific Northwest: a gorgeous waterfront town on the Kitsap Peninsula with access to boating, hiking, cycling, restaurants, excellent schools, and a slower pace of life that is conducive to a healthy work-life balance.
The region offers a rare combination of outdoor beauty and community feel, while still providing access to the vibrant Seattle/Tacoma metropolitan area. For someone who desires Pacific Northwest living without being embedded in a stifling city or soulless suburbia, Poulsbo and the surrounding Kitsap communities would be a perfect fit.
